About
Al-Jdeideh is a quarter of old Aleppo just north of the walls that grew between the 15th and 17th centuries as a quarter of Christians and merchants. It is known for its Ottoman stone courtyard houses, such as Beit Ajiqbash, Beit Ghazaleh and Beit Wakil, and for its old churches clustered around al-Hatab Square.
