Al-Qaryatain
The Monastery of St Elian is an ancient monastery in the town of al-Qaryatayn dating from the 5th century, with the tomb of St Elian of Homs. The Islamic State group demolished it in 2015; the saint's remains were found in the ruins after the town was retaken in 2016.
