About
Hosn Suleiman is the site of a large Roman-era temple in the mountains east of Tartus, dedicated to Zeus and known in antiquity as Baetocaece. A wall of huge stone blocks surrounds the sanctuary, and its gates, decorated with carvings, still stand in the village of the same name.
