About
An old Syriac Catholic monastery on a rocky mountainside in the desert east of al-Nabk, dating back to the 6th century, whose church is decorated with wall paintings from the 11th and 12th centuries. Father Paolo Dall'Oglio revived it in the 1980s as a place of dialogue between Christians and Muslims; a long stairway leads up to it.
