About
Khirbet al-Bayda, also called Qasr al-Abyad (the White Palace), is the ruin of a well-built fortified palace in the Syrian Desert about 110 km south-east of Damascus, on the edge of the Hauran. Researchers think it is most likely Umayyad, possibly Ghassanid from before Islam; it is one of the desert castles scattered across the Syrian steppe.
